Sauces
Our sauces are made with the same high quality ingredients as the rest of our preserves.
Nairnshire sauce was developed for one of our customers who wanted something along the lines of Cumberland sauce to go with his wild boar products. It's been made with local redcurrants and apples, with port, oranges, ginger and other spices added. It has a nice wee kick and is good not just with wild boar, but also venison, other game and lamb. It's also nice as an accompaniment to a cheese platter.
Spiced cranberry sauce may traditionally be for the Christmas turkey, but it's popular all year round with our customers as an accompaniment to chicken - or even in a cheese sandwich.
Spiced plum sauce is lovely with duck. Made with dark red plums, vinegar, sugar and spices, try making your gravy with it. Also good as part of a Chinese-style stir fry.
Chilli sauce used to be labelled as chilli jam, but then we decided that it was definitely a sauce. Contains tomatoes, peppers, fresh chill, ginger, vinegar and sugar. Has a good kick to it
